Weed species composition and abundance in the main coffee production systems and regions of Ethiopia

A weed population survey was carried out to assess the variability in species composition and abundance main coffee production systems regions of Ethiopia. total 168 fields were assessed using a quadrat count systematic sampling technique. Weed evaluated frequency, dominance at each site. We found 98 taxa belonging 35 families, which Asteraceae Poaceae most abundant. The frequent Oplismenus hirtellus (L.) P.Beauv., Galinsoga parviflora Cav., Achyranthes bidentata Blume, Impatiens balfourii Hook. F., Bidens pilosa L. Commelina benghalensis L., with frequency over 40%. density varied highest value recorded by O. hirtellus. Similarity indices 16 districts ranged from 8.33% 72.73%, while similarity altitudinal range 7.14% 49.49% 41.76% 68.75%, respectively.
